Is it Pho real?

Oh I made a pun! I'm so punny =)

Five reasons as to why I'm writing this post right now:
1. last post was a long one so I need to alternate with a short post.
2. six assignments due this week for school (I'm taking 5 classes... what the hell right?) so there won't be another post for about 10 days.
3. Spent today doing homework and giving out candy, I need a break.
4. I have a nine-hour shift tomorrow *facepalm*
5. create some suspension for my next very special post hehe.

I noticed this new place opened up near school a couple months back and really wanted to try it out so I went with my friend Chris last week. Chris is probably my first friend in uni... I remember he was in the very first class I had back in first year =) Good times.


Pho Orchid on Dundas street east of University Ave
I frigging want to steal their typeface! I love it! Only half of the restaurant is above the ground haha =D


Menu
I hate the menu. You can only place it down like shown. Laminate + staples = no no


Interior
We sat by the window (more like window above my head) so hence why Chris looks like he's glowing haha. The inside is okay. It wasn't busy 'cause it was around 3pm.


Garnishes
Lime, bean sprout & Thai basil(?)


Pho 01 - Large
Chris just ordered the first one on the Pho section of the menu. I wanted it too but didn't want to get the exact same thing.. what's the fun in that right?


Pho 05 - medium
But it's funny how most of the selection in the Pho section sounded extremely similar X_X

Verdict: Not the best Pho in town. Will return to try something else from the menu.

p.s Any Pho restaurant recommendations?

On my first day of work (like 4 weeks ago? haha) I had about 4 hours to kill from end of class to the time of my shift so I decided to have lunch with friends. I went to Sushi Queen Izakaya with my high school friends Debs and Peez =D Then the week after, I went back to the restaurant again with another HS friend, KC =)


Sushi Queen Izakaya
Located in downtown Toronto (On Bay St north of Dundas St). Service is good. What can I say, I'm a returning customer!

If I could only have one type of food for the rest of my life, it would probably be sushi. There's just something about intricate food that is especially appetizing! I can eat sushi all day long ahaha O_O Hey I could've been swapped by accident with another baby in the hospital and am actually Japanese... could be a possibility XD JK, I'm like a clone of my mom -.-''

But as you can see, I like to order food that looks pretty XD I might've ordered it because they had a picture of it in the menu.

Here the thing. Originally I wanted to try their special menu but didn't know they only serve that after 4pm BOO!!!! I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get to try the food I saw from BlogTO. So that's why I went back the following week with Karen.

I went on a Friday if you were wondering. Okay, this is what I call an ugly menu. I understand that they probably change it up frequently but STILL. It doesn't cost that much to print on better quality paper X_X

Good thing the name didn't break my appetite. Yum.

This one is a little mild. I liked it.


Hawaii Roll
This was my absolute favourite! I will go back any day just to eat this again. I'm a crazy mango woman ahahaha. Felt like summer again when I consumed it LOL. (Sorry for the shadow, the sun was setting and I sat right by the window X_X I showed a picture of this in my I've Been Tagged pt 2 post!)


Honey Potato
I'd pass on this one. It was kinda dry but not terrible.

Here's the special menu (after 4pm I think). We were gonna order another dish but figured four dishes for the two of us was enough. We did finish everything though! Next time, next time...

It's twenty-ten twenty-ten! What a special day to write this post.

It brings me teary eyes as I'm writing this post but what must be done to bring final closure must be done now. Today just happens to be my three months anniversary of being a single lady wohoo!

It's been a rather difficult journey for me the past three months because not a day went by without thoughts of him and our past. First month was absolute torture with memories flooding my brain like there was no tomorrow. The fact that it happened during summer didn't help either because when I couldn't keep myself busy, I thought about stupid shit. I'm just glad that my friends (real life and internet friends) helped me get through the first month. Thank you all for being there for me ^_^



Prom '08
This is my favourite picture of us. There won't be another picture like this again.

The second month got slightly better. When school started, I decided to take matter into my own hands. I made myself busy by getting a job, started blogging more regularly, hung out with new and old friends, and pretty much did anything that would take my mind off of things. I think it worked out quite well but I knew it would take just a bit more time for everything to settle down though.

Now that we're at the end of the third month, I think I'm ready. I'm ready to put it all behind me and move forward. I for one refuse to live in the past! I know the future awaits for me. This girl is ready to tackle whatever comes her way!

Two thumbs up!
Helen gives her two thumbs up, meaning everything will be just fine. I want to share a quote that gave me strength when I felt weak: there's no greater power than the power to move on, to start over and leave it all behind. A broken heart is not the end of the world because what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.

On a final note, I must thank a girl for making all of this happen. I do not know who you are but thanks for bringing me all that excruciating pain. But you know what? I am now stronger than ever before all to you.
