Current Song: Lady Gaga - Born This Way

Year 3 Semester 2 Weeks 3-5.

I must've told you guys already that I like fatty food right? Unfortunately, poutine isn't one of them. However, there's a chain here in Toronto (already growing rapidly to the rest of Canada) called Smoke's Poutinerie and they sell nothing but poutine (and drinks). I haven't had poutine since high school and so I went in and tried Smoke's the other week and I must say, poutine just isn't something I'm crazy about. I had to try it because one of my assignments for Copywriting class was to write 100 headlines to sell their poutine. That's right, ONE HUNDRED.

41.1
Smoke's Poutine - Traditional

Their poutines come in two sizes; this is the small. I must say, peopled love this big mouthful of heart attack. Since the target is young men, who wouldn't be attracted to an orgy of fries frying, gravy dripping, curds squeaking, and everything else that's good?

41.2
Smoke's Poutine - Cheeseburger (?)

This is the large and yes it looks repulsive. You can seriously get into a food coma from eating this. Poutine is actually considered to be comfort food (tastes fantastic with beer) but with portion sizes like this, it's a hefty load of comfort. So, common sense (is) not required to drink and dine. When drunk.

41.3
Custom Cupcake in the making

Okay, time for something cuter? I went to the bake sale (as mentioned in a previous post) and I asked my friend (who made the cupcakes) to ice a plain cupcake on the spot for me 'cause I wanted a custom made one ahahaha. These cupcakes are sooo good! Thanks Vince =D

41.4
One of a Kind

I thought it said Helen Hi (and a flower) but it actually isn't a Hi, it's my logo! It wasn't until later when I looked at the picture again that I realized this. Stupid me.

41.5
Logo

For one of my classes, we had to come up with a logo for ourselves. This is what mine looks like. I probably will change it in the near future but for now this will do. It's HLi.

So it's reading week for me this week which means I don't have school! *celebrates*

would you hold it against me?

Current Song: Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me

From Leap Year (2010):
"Always kiss like it’s the first time, and the last time."

“May you never steal, lie or cheat. But if you have to steal, then steal away my sorrows. If you have to lie, then lie with me all the nights of our life. If you have to cheat, then cheat death because I don’t want to live a day without you.”

40.3

Eat, Pray, Love (2010):
"It's the same with relationships, I think. People always fall in love with the most perfect aspects of each other's personalities. Who wouldn't? Anybody can love the most wonderful parts of another person. But that's not the clever trick‎. The really clever trick is this: Can you accept the flaws? Can you look at your partner's faults honestly and say, 'I can work around that. I can make something out of that.'? Because the good stuff is always going to be there, and it's always going to be pretty and sparkly, but the crap underneath can ruin you."

40.2

Other:
"There's no greater power than the power to move on, to start over and leave it all behind."

"Love isn't finding a perfect person. It's seeing an imperfect person perfectly."

Love: a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.

40.1

This Valentine's day, I'm in love... with life.

I've Been Tagged (part 4)

Cinnabunnie tagged for me the Stylish Blog Award! Thanks! I have to share 7 things about me! I hope I haven't mentioned the following on my previous blog posts yet hehe.

1. I feel stupid when I'm working. Back when I worked at Mcdonald's and had to deal with cash, it saddened me at times that I couldn't do mental math when customers gave me more loose coins than what I initially punched in the system. By then it was already too late to return to the previous screen so I would ponder how much change I need to give back. This is coming from someone who enjoyed math class very much in high school *sigh*

2. I was the shiest child ever. I never said hi to any of my relatives, so never mind everyone else. You could threaten to kill me and I wouldn't make a sound when we had guests over. I was known as the child that didn't speak. I'm still growing out of that shell but I've come a long way since then.

3. I pay more attention in classes where I'm not registered in. There's no pressure to have to study for tests and write essays. The thoughts of being graded makes learning less fun in my opinion.

4. I am selfless. I put everyone else ahead of me. I don't neccesarily see this has a positive thing because sometimes I end up hurting myself. I need to try to be more selfish perhaps?

5. I've never broken a bone, hence never had a cast. Does this mean I play life safe? Is it weird that I want to get a cast at least once in my lifetime?! I don't mind if it's just a finger lol.

Chandelier

6. The first time someone asked me "what's up" , I literally looked up and said "ceiling". Since then it has become my signature statement haha. To my defense though, I was still learning English.

7. In grade one, I was playing tag with friends and I was running so fast that when I turned corner, I slipped and fell on my face. I scraped my face on the pavement and it took weeks for my face to heal. Good thing it didn't leave a scar.

the little things in life matter the most

Bake Sale!

The other day I stopped by U of T St. George after class to support my friends' bake sale! They are having another sale this upcoming Wednesday (9th) and Thursday (10th) at Sydney Smith (table across from Second Cup). So if you're in the area, don't forget to drop by between 9am - 5pm and support the Rotman Commerce Liquid Asset Dragon Boat team! =)

Now for the more inappropriate stuff, my friend pulled this out in class the other day. Her mom bought it for her from Taiwan and we're not too sure if her mom knows what it's suppose to imitate lol.

Strawberry Chocolate

I seriously thought it was a (flavoured) condom at first ahahaha (until she showed me the box of course)! We also showed it to our wonderful prof, who had a good laugh at it too.

Box

This is the box it comes in. If you haven't figured it out yet, it's imitating Durex. You can see the way their logo is treated is very similar to the Durex logo. By the way, of all the condoms out there, Durex makes the best ads. Anyway, the Chinese on the box translates to "Condom shaped chocolate". Chinese people make the funniest shit.

What Helen is trying to say is uhh.. have a wonderful Valentine's Day and be safe *wink*

Skates!

I also started learning how to skate (again)! The last time I skated was in elementary school when we had our annual trips to the skating rink. I swear I only went for the free hot chocolate and Tim Bits (small donuts) lol. I enjoyed my first time at Nathan Philips Square! I enjoy the process of learning a lot and I'm afraid once I can fully skate, I just won't like it as much =( My first fall was very graceful and it was literally in slow motion, as if I just wanted to sit down in the middle of the rink LOL! But the second time my ass broke the fall and I don't even remember how I fell D= Thank you wonderful friends for coming with me ^_^
