On my first day of work (like 4 weeks ago? haha) I had about 4 hours to kill from end of class to the time of my shift so I decided to have lunch with friends. I went to Sushi Queen Izakaya with my high school friends Debs and Peez =D Then the week after, I went back to the restaurant again with another HS friend, KC =)

Located in downtown Toronto (On Bay St north of Dundas St). Service is good. What can I say, I'm a returning customer!

If I could only have one type of food for the rest of my life, it would probably be sushi. There's just something about intricate food that is especially appetizing! I can eat sushi all day long ahaha O_O Hey I could've been swapped by accident with another baby in the hospital and am actually Japanese... could be a possibility XD JK, I'm like a clone of my mom -.-''

But as you can see, I like to order food that looks pretty XD I might've ordered it because they had a picture of it in the menu.

Here the thing. Originally I wanted to try their special menu but didn't know they only serve that after 4pm BOO!!!! I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get to try the food I saw from BlogTO. So that's why I went back the following week with Karen.

This was my absolute favourite! I will go back any day just to eat this again. I'm a crazy mango woman ahahaha. Felt like summer again when I consumed it LOL. (Sorry for the shadow, the sun was setting and I sat right by the window X_X I showed a picture of this in my I've Been Tagged pt 2 post!)

It's twenty-ten twenty-ten! What a special day to write this post.

It brings me teary eyes as I'm writing this post but what must be done to bring final closure must be done now. Today just happens to be my three months anniversary of being a single lady wohoo!

It's been a rather difficult journey for me the past three months because not a day went by without thoughts of him and our past. First month was absolute torture with memories flooding my brain like there was no tomorrow. The fact that it happened during summer didn't help either because when I couldn't keep myself busy, I thought about stupid shit. I'm just glad that my friends (real life and internet friends) helped me get through the first month. Thank you all for being there for me ^_^

This is my favourite picture of us. There won't be another picture like this again.

The second month got slightly better. When school started, I decided to take matter into my own hands. I made myself busy by getting a job, started blogging more regularly, hung out with new and old friends, and pretty much did anything that would take my mind off of things. I think it worked out quite well but I knew it would take just a bit more time for everything to settle down though.

Now that we're at the end of the third month, I think I'm ready. I'm ready to put it all behind me and move forward. I for one refuse to live in the past! I know the future awaits for me. This girl is ready to tackle whatever comes her way!

Two thumbs up!
Helen gives her two thumbs up, meaning everything will be just fine. I want to share a quote that gave me strength when I felt weak: there's no greater power than the power to move on, to start over and leave it all behind. A broken heart is not the end of the world because what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.

On a final note, I must thank a girl for making all of this happen. I do not know who you are but thanks for bringing me all that excruciating pain. But you know what? I am now stronger than ever before all to you.

Hello cupcakes!

Kenzo Ra-men Menu.
So I had my first ramen experience this past Wednesday after class with my friend Wendy =D We went to Kenzo Ramen and it was delicious! I can't believe it took me this long to try ramen *smacks head*.

The King of the Kings Ra-men
Wendy loved the bit of spiciness in her ramen, the seaweed sheets and egg =) She even pointed out a cute waiter to me haha. Let me tell you, hiring cute waiters/hot waitresses will get you more business.

Ji Su Men.
I don't take spice well so I opted for the Ji Su Men; I really enjoyed it. I'm definitely going back for more soon!

Popcorn + digital "art"?
What's a date without a movie right? Wendy and I watched Easy A! The movie was better than what I thought it would be from watching the trailer. During the movie I did have a lot of "WTF AHAAHA" moments lol. We even got complimentary popcorn and drink with our movie tickets! I was pretty full on ramen so I used the remaining popcorn to make this when I got home.

We only fight for the plug when we have in-class assignments.
It's great to hang with people outside of class BUT when the fun is over, it's back to reality - homework. I am now in my 6th week of the semester (12 weeks in total), which means massive amount of assignments and essays are on my plate right now. I don't know how I feel about in class assignments because time is always limited and it always feels more like a test than anything else =( You know something is up when everyone fights for the plug while in class =)

Wine Ad.
Remember my wine ad that I posted two weeks ago? After a blind critique in class, I eliminated some elements and resubmitted this one. It made me sad that I had to scratch the wineglass shape and fun curly typeface but this modified one definitely looks a lot better. Keeper for my portfolio? I think so.

I love my job...

... even though it's only been 4 shifts. I worked 4 days in a row actually lol but so far so good! My co-workers are nice, I love the music we play in the store and most of the customers are very easygoing. I do struggle sometimes on the job but it's almost a given when starting a new job right? Regardless, this job is a definite keeper.

Do you compile a wish/to-buy list when you suddenly have a source of income? I do haha!

Busing to work and school takes up a big chunk of my time so I turn to my ipod to kill time. The weather is getting colder now so whenever I'm out the house, I'll wear a scarf or two. I LOVE CIRCLE SCARFS!!!

Did you know that Helen is actually one of those people who hates to be bothered by sale associates when she's shopping? Then why the hell did she get a job in retail you ask? Well I have my reasons =) This job is a stepping stone toward a goal, a promise for change hehe.
